Job Description

The Westervelt group located at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory campus of Columbia University is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Scientist for aerosol-climate modeling research towards understanding the near-term climate and air quality impacts of rapidly evolving aerosol emissions in several developing world regions. The candidate will work on analysis of the Regional Aerosol Model Intercomparison Project (RAMIP), which is an international collaboration of several climate modeling centers around the world.


he successful candidate must have completed a PhD in atmospheric science, meteorology, climate science, physics, engineering, or an allied field by the start of the fellowship.

Appointments are made on a fiscal year basis and are eligible for renewal each July 1st, contingent upon performance and funding. There is currently funding in place for 2 years.

The search wil remain open for at least 30 days after the ad appears and will remain open until the position is filled.
