Job Description

The successful candidate will work with a team of researchers, under the direction of Stavros Thomopoulos, at the Robert E. Carroll and Jane Chase Carroll Laboratories (Carroll Laboratories) in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Columbia University Medical Center, New York. The project focuses on the development and regeneration of the tendon enthesis, with an emphasis on identifying regenerative processes in neonatal injuries. Candidates should be highly motivated and independent, with expertise in musculoskeletal biology, in vivo experiments using transgenic and knockout mice, biomechanics, and molecular biology. Previous experience in mechanical testing, mouse models and breeding, in situ hybridization, immunohistochemistry, and microCT bone morphometry is desired, but not required.

  • M.D., Ph.D., or equivalent
  • All applicants must have completed their degree requirements and have experience in musculoskeletal biology and biomechanics, in vivo experiments using mouse models, and molecular biology.
