Employed by PAGNY for NYC Health + Hospitals/Gotham Health, Morrisania is located on 1225 Gerard Avenue and has been serving the South Bronx for over 45 years. Responsibilities

PAGNY Seeks a part time Dentist (24 hrs/week - Monday-Wednesday-Friday). to join our Gotham Health - Morrisania Clinic. .

    Diagnoses and treats diseases, injuries, and malformations of teeth and gums, and related oral structures by performing the following duties.
  • Examines individuals requesting care, diagnoses their dental/oral conditions, prescribes and carries out, or directs others in carrying out, appropriate dental/oral treatment, or refers individuals for specialty consultation or treatment in conformance with approved clinical protocols and guidelines
  • Maintains current and accurate problem-oriented dental records.
  • Treats dental diseases, injuries and malfunctions of teeth and gums.
  • Determines need for dental and prosthetic appliances.
  • Advises patients about dental health practices and provides dental health education.
  • Consults with the Chief Medical Officer on referral and other matters pertaining to the Centers dental health services.
  • Supervises the assistant in the Dental Department.
  • Takes part in all health center meetings as required.
  • Assists in the planning for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation for the dental unit.
  • Responsible for personal full compliance with all applicable federal, state, local and center rules, regulations, protocols and procedures governing the practice of dentistry and the clinical provision of dental care as well as those relating to, but not limited to, personnel issues, work place safety, public health and confidentiality. Caries out supportive responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include assisting in interviewing, hiring, and training employees, appraising performance or support staff, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Facilitates related services for health center patients and Gotham staff as appropriate, with respect to their confidentiality and privacy.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications

  • Board Certification or the ability to become Board Certified in Dental Medicine within 5 years of hire.
  • Active New York State License
  • Active DEA license
  • At Least Two years of Experience
