About The Opportunity
Position Summary
This is a 6-8 month co-opopportunity that includes full-time on-site work. This position will work from the Lyndhurst, NJ office, located outside of New York City. The Structural Design Co-Op will provide the candidate with systems training, design software, sample making, project management and customer service experience. This is the perfect opportunity for a candidate looking to work in the Packaging Structural Design career field.
Essential to this Position
The Structural Design Co-op will be responsible for assisting the Menasha Packaging Design Team with projects starting in January/Spring of 2025.
Areas of Learning/Responsibilities
Provide design samples to meet the needs of our customers and sales team on a timely basis
Assist in preparing pallet diagrams
Operate Kongsberg cutting table for sample making of corrugated display components
Mount printed sheets to corrugated for use in display mock-ups
Assemble and build POP display samples
Photograph displays and prepare for presentation using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator software
Size and cut shippers for team and assist with packing
Communicate with internal customers regarding their design needs and changes
Demonstrate commitment to safety and perform job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures
Assist with board deliveries and general office clean-up
Fill down time with self-development on software and design projects.
Qualifications
Ideal candidate will be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Packaging Design or another related degree
Ideal candidate will be in their 3rd or 4th year of college, but willing to consider other candidates based onprior experience
Experience with Artios, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
Corrugated packaging knowledge
Ability to work both independently and in a team setting in a fast paced, high-volume environment
Accuracy and attention to detail
Good communication skills, both oral and written
