Ramboll is a leading scientific environmental consulting firm providing a broad range of technical services to both public and private sector clients.

Rambollis seeking aSenior Lead Consultantto join the firm's Princeton, NJ office. Hybrid work arrangement (split schedule working from home and in the Princeton office) is available. The consultant will be responsible for successful completion of project-related work products and client deliverables pertaining to evaluating and communicating potential risks due to human exposures to chemicals. In addition, support of technical experts for litigation cases, product safety evaluations, and environmental justice analyses will be integrated with the risk assessment work. The successful candidate will be working in a challenging and variable environment that will include detail-oriented independent work and regular interactions with both internal and external clients. Essential duties of this position may include:

  • Compiling, organizing, and managing environmental and biomonitoring data and databases
  • Review of medical histories and case studies
  • Performing statistical and geospatial analyses of environmental and other data
  • Estimating human exposures to chemicals in different environmental media (e.g., air, soil, sediment, fish and other food tissues, produce, water, etc.) and calculating risks using standard USEPA methodology
  • Modeling contaminant migration and exposure concentrations
  • Critically reviewing and interpreting regulatory and non-regulatory information related to chemical fate and transport, human exposures, chemical toxicity, and risk assessment
  • Leading preparation of plans, reports, and presentations, development of summary tables and figures, composing narrative summaries, and assuring internal quality control of work products
  • Supervising junior staff in the above activities
  • Ability to travel intermittently to support business development and/or project needs

Educational Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Public Health, Toxicology, Epidemiology, or related fields.
  • Exemplary individuals with Bachelor's degrees and related experience may be considered.

Required Skills:

  • Statistical analysis capabilities in MS Excel, SAS, and/or R
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well with a team and individually
  • Working knowledge of exposure and risk assessment principles, methods, guidance, and models (e.g., IEUBK, J&E, ProUCL)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities to see projects to completion and to meet challenges directly
  • Self-directed initiative to improve and advance technical capabilities, and desire to advance career
  • Hands on experience with managing projects or tasks in line with work scope, schedule, and budget

Desired skills/experience

  • > 3 years of successful prior environmental consulting experience in a similar role
  • Experience with MS Access, PowerBI, and/or EQuIS for managing, querying, and analyzing data
  • Familiarity with GIS software and applications
  • Ability to support internal and external clients with both technical and strategic consulting services
  • Interest in business development
  • Demonstrated personal commitment to achieving high standards for quality and excellence in technical work products
