Overview:

As the Sales Finance Co-Pilot, you will serve as a trusted partner to our Sales teams, providing invaluable financial insights and support for key customer accounts. Your primary responsibility will be to integrate financial expertise, governance, and controls into commercial discussions, enabling our Sales teams to effectively steer customer accounts towards company objectives. This role requires a keen focus on compliance, enhanced reporting, streamlined systems, processes, and collaborative ways of working to continually improve our understanding of business performance and optimize financial decision-making processes.

Responsibilities:

Business Partnering

  • Coach and support Sales teams to enhance their financial abilities and foster collaborative relationships that optimize team performance
  • Offer financial insights and decision-making support across various Sales processes, including Business Reviews, Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), and Account Financial Steering (Forecast accuracy, Net Sales, Gross Margin percentage, Net Sales Price, Market Share, etc.)
  • Support commercial decision-making scenarios and conduct impact analysis as needed

Trade Terms and Conditions Management

  • Manage monthly trade rebate accruals, including tracking and forecasting
  • Conduct variance analysis of all customer-related spend and assess full-year implications against targets
  • Initiate periodic trade accrual adjustments while ensuring compliance with trade management policies

Drive Efficiency

  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance process efficiency and ways of working
  • Responsible for embedding systems and processes in your customers, also serving as a key user responsible for a selection of system/ processes
  • Support the development and enhancement of new and existing systems and processes to ensure the efficient operation of the Sales and Customer Marketing teams

Annual Business Planning / Financial Submissions

  • Collaborate with the Sales team to develop and execute attainable yet ambitious company plans aligned with agreed targets, ensuring clarity on assumptions and drivers while analyzing performance across brand and customer dimensions
  • Support with routine financial submissions and control governance checks to headquarters

Senior Management Support

  • Deliver insightful analysis of business results to Senior Management and conduct ad hoc analyses that drive problem-solving and offer recommendations for business improvement
  • Report directly to the Sr. Manager, Sales Controlling, and contribute to the establishment and achievement of financial business goals in line with the Sales Strategy

Requirements:

  • BS/BA required. MBA in Finance or related field highly desirable
  • 3-5 years of Controlling or similar experience at Beiersdorf or other CPG Company
  • 1-2 years of accounting and other financial experience in other types of roles
  • Proven experience with Business partnering and cross functional relationship building
  • Strong business analytics skills
  • Strong system skills including Excel, SAP, BI systems and comfort with complex models
  • Understanding of accounting and finance (P&L, Balance Sheet construction)
  • Strong English communication skills both written and verbally
  • Flexibility for occasional travel
