Job Description
BlueRock Therapeutics is looking to hire a highly committed Research Associate II to contribute to the development of stem cell-derived cardiomyocyte therapies on-site. This position will involve hands-on in vitro work with immune cells to evaluate and develop BlueRock's next-generation therapies. The ideal candidate has experience with immune cell culture and evaluation of immune cell function. This position in Immunology will work closely with cross-functional teams to enable successful execution of efforts within the program. This is an outstanding opportunity for a talented and self-motivated Research Associate II to contribute to the development of cutting-edge allogeneic cellular therapies.
Responsibilities:
  • Plan and execute in vitro experiments to evaluate novel allo-engineering strategies
  • Isolate and culture primary immune cells and mammalian cell lines (suspension and adherent)
  • Culture and differentiate stem cells
  • Characterize immune cells (e.g., by multicolor flow cytometry) and assess their functions using cell-based assays
  • Generate, collect, and analyze data; communicate results effectively to peers
  • Document experimental data in electronic laboratory notebooks in a timely and accurate manner
  • Collaborate with other team members in a matrixed environment
  • Attend and present data at laboratory and cross-functional team meetings
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years o f experience or Master's degree with 0+ years of experience in Immunology, Biology, Biochemistry, or related discipline
  • Demonstrated skills in aseptic technique
  • Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture is required. Hands-on experience with stem cells and/or human primary immune cells is preferred.
  • Candidates with multi-color flow cytometry experience will be prioritized
  • Experience with cell-based functional assays (e.g., cell proliferation, cytokine release, cytotoxicity)
  • Self-motivated, highly organized working style with excellent record keeping skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with peers in a results-oriented, fast-paced research environment
  • Role requires individuals to be onsite full time to conduct laboratory work
