As a Strategic Sourcing Manager within the Strategic Sourcing and Procurement (SS&P) group, you will lead a team responsible for establishing and executing sourcing strategies and plans that support business partner and enterprise-wide priorities. You will help drive business value by managing business partner relationships and acting as a primary contact for strategic sourcing activities related to our Global Distribution portfolio. This includes our Global Client Groups (Marketing & Sales), Retirement Plan Services, as well as Investor and Advisor services. You will act as a strategic business partner for senior business leaders in Global Distribution. You will leverage industry best practice, your business, financial and data acumen, and external analysis to inform and influence business strategy and decision making. You will leverage your expertise to develop goals and objectives for the team and department that will align activity to strategic initiatives. You will develop a high performing team. This will include coaching, mentoring, matching talent to stretch opportunities and managing performance. Your scope will include managing strategic sourcing teams through the execution of end-to-end sourcing, contracting, contract management, and supplier management processes including advising teams on category/portfolio strategy, project planning, sourcing strategies, negotiation tactics and participating in or leading negotiations on large or more complex engagements. You have experience working in a high performing team and your success has been built on a foundation of strong communication skills, a customer centric mindset, and superior critical thinking skills. You have the experience, confidence and courage to add value in diverse situations.

  • You have previous experience managing and developing successful strategic sourcing teams.
  • You have demonstrated the ability to build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and can leverage relationships to influence senior business leaders on strategic business matters.
  • You have strong communication skills, demonstrate effective and professional service orientation, and you build authentic rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
  • You have led large, complex sourcing and contracting projects of significant scope across an organization to deliver superior business outcomes. You a re adept at planning and managing project execution, managing a portfolio of projects, and creating strategic roadmaps for your portfolio.
  • You are data driven with strong analytical skills that you deploy to create insights and information to influence business strategy and decision making.
  • You are technically savvy and able to maximize the power of technology to amplify the performance of yourself and your team.
  • You are highly organized, strive for operational excellence and can effectively manage the day-to-day operations of a team, and continuously improve end-to-end business processes.
  • You exercise good judgement and have a process for managing competing priorities. You are comfortable when priorities shift, and you manage change with steadfast composure.
  • You're comfortable dealing with ambiguity and navigating situations without clear directions. You are a master in creating backup plans and alternative options when unforeseen circumstances arise.
  • You have prior experience within financial services and/or investment management.


Southern California Base Salary Range: $148,045-$236,872

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
